Project OVERVIEW:
Voyager was developed as a travel-friendly disposable vape designed to stand out in East Coast Cannabis’s growing product lineup. Like many cannabis projects, the need arose quickly — a stopgap solution with a tight timeline — but it also offered an opportunity to create a colorful, standalone SKU with its own visual identity. The name “Voyager” was chosen to evoke movement, adventure, and ease — speaking to tourists exploring Maine as well as regular customers looking for a convenient on-the-go option.

Execution

With a tight turnaround, the project kicked off by exploring a few quick concept directions. The goal was to create something colorful and compact — a design that would feel distinct from ECC’s other product lines while still aligning with the broader brand system. The chosen direction leaned into natural inspiration, featuring a stylized sunrise over Acadia National Park to evoke movement, exploration, and Maine’s coastal beauty.

The final design was applied to a single mylar pouch used across a range of strains, making the visual identity both flexible and efficient to produce. Compliance details were thoughtfully integrated into the layout, ensuring the design met Maine’s cannabis packaging regulations without disrupting the overall aesthetic. Art direction was also provided for campaign photoshoots to highlight the product’s portability and outdoor-friendly use. Marketing support included promotional creative for both digital and in-store rollout.

Sometimes tight deadlines lead to the most focused creative thinking. This packaging redesign captured the refreshed vision ECC was heading toward — helping push the brand into a more colorful, lifestyle-forward direction.

Voyager quickly became a customer favorite — particularly as a solventless vape option — with strong feedback on both the product quality and visual design. It has since become a staple of ECC’s new visual aesthetic and an anchor SKU for seasonal promotions and tourist-friendly campaigns.
